SyllabusTLDR

The short version

SyllabusTLDR runs entirely in your browser. When you paste text or upload a PDF, that content is parsed on your device and is never uploaded to, or stored on, our servers — we do not see, collect, or retain your syllabus content. We do use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, and once we enable advertising, Google AdSense will use cookies to serve ads.

1. Who we are

SyllabusTLDR ("we," "us," "our") operates the website located at syllabustldr.com (the "Service"). This policy explains what information the Service collects, how it's used, and your choices.

2. Information you provide

Any syllabus text you paste or PDF you upload is processed locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript (including PDF.js for text extraction). It is not transmitted to, or stored by, any server we operate. Closing the tab or clearing the page clears the data — there is nothing for us to delete because we never had it.

3. Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Service — pages viewed, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, referral source, and general usage events. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to the content of any syllabus you process.

4. Cookies and advertising

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Once Google AdSense is enabled on this site, Google and its advertising partners will also use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Most browsers also let you block or clear cookies directly in their settings.

5. Third-party services

The Service loads resources from these third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics & Google AdSense (Google LLC)
• Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery)
• Google Fonts, Font Awesome, PDF.js, and html2canvas (static assets served from their respective CDNs)

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data collected via analytics or advertising cookies, and to opt out of their sale or sharing. Because we never receive your syllabus content, there's nothing of that kind to request. For analytics/advertising data, you can exercise choices through the cookie controls and opt-out links above, or contact us using the details below.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
